Butterfly Spirits, a craft liquor brand based in Bethesda, Maryland, was founded by Alyssa and Josh Ammerman, both Montgomery County natives. The brand was born out of their mutual passion for cocktails and the intricate, delightful experiences they offer. Initially, the brand's focus was on producing botanically-forward spirits with a vintage flair, starting with their award-winning Elderberry vodka - a smooth, lightly floral, and easy-drinking spirit. Butterfly Spirits has since grown to include a range of visually stunning, flavorful, and highly unique products that go beyond the typical vodka or bourbon offerings.
Butterfly Spirits prides itself on offering spirits that can be enjoyed simply over ice or mixed into distinctive and refreshing cocktails. Their flagship product is the color-changing Butterfly Botanical Liqueur, which is lavender-blue in color and visually striking. The brand's portfolio also includes Kent Cob Hazelnut Whiskey and ready-to-drink Butterfly Vodka Soda canned cocktails.
Since its launch in 2020, Butterfly Spirits has rapidly expanded in the DC metropolitan area, thanks to its focus on offering visually appealing and unique products that stand out in the crowded craft spirits market.
